Mike has been a valued part of the team here for more than 40 years. He started working at our shop for Ed Reid back in 1977, from whom he learned a lot about rebuilding auto transmissions, how to accurately diagnose a wide variety of vehicle problems and – most importantly – how to provide exceptional service to our many customers. When the time came in 1991 for Ed to retire, Mike decided to buy Moline Transmission Service.
In the years since taking over as the owner of our shop, there have been some incredible, dedicated employees on our staff and many very loyal customers we’ve been happy to serve. Because of that dedication, Moline Transmission Service has been a successful and supportive part of the local business community.
Mike has served as part of the Scott Community College Automotive Advisory Board and many years he was the Safety and Education Coordinator for the Blackhawk Chapter of A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois. Mike was able to become part of driver’s education classes and instruct young new drivers all about motorcycle safety.
Mike and his wife, Tami, are the proud parents of three daughters, two grandsons and a pair of Jack Russell Terriers. Tami and Mike really enjoy watching their grandson’s sporting events. In fact, Mike was able to help out coaching his oldest grandson’s football team. He wasn’t quite sure what to expect from the experience but he definitely enjoyed his time as a coach. When Mike and Tami get the opportunity to enjoy some spare time, they hop on the Harley for an annual vacation, during which they have traveled to several states and even up to Canada.
